Flowers For Headbands For Baby Girls
Wondering what's hot in Flower girl fashion? The who's who and the what's what in flower girl fashion can be found right here, on this page!
Flower girl fashion follows the same trends you see in wedding dress fashion. As wedding dresses become more simple so do flower girl dresses and at the same time, when wedding dress fashion become more extravagant you'll find the same thing happening with flower girl fashion. Having said that changes in flower girl fashion is rarely as dramatic as that in wedding gowns and you'll find that they've always had a sweet little girl feel about them and are rarely as dramatic as the brides dress. Just think of the bride's poofy sleeves of the 1980's! Though the flower girls had pleated shoulder they were never nearly as extreme as that of the bride.
The most important thing to remember with flower girl fashion is to make sure that your flower girl is comfortable and at the same time complimenting the theme of the day - including color and mood. If you're traditional she should be toa and if you're simple and modern, she should be too!
Fashionable Flower Girl Accessories
Flower Girl Dresses
There are two really big things you'll notice in designer style flower girl dresses .
1.The tuft skirtawhich I think will be going out in the next year or two
2.The colored sash, which I think will stay around for awhile since it's such a great way to make the flower girl dress match the wedding theme.
Baskets In 1980 when I was a flower girl I carried a wicker basket with dried flowers, hardly en mode for a wedding today - unless of course you're going for a retro 80's feel. Instead a simple silk basket filled with either frozen or dried rose petals is more suitable for today's modern flower girl.
Color
Traditionally, when picking the flower girl dress the color AND fabric was usually expected to complement the bride's dress - either white, cream or champagne and silk or satin. Extra accessories like the sash, flowers, and basket matched the bridesmaids. Today it's just as common for the flower girl to wear the same color and fabric dress as the bridesmaid. Both work really well and both look great. However, it's often easier to find dresses in white or pink rather than the plethora of colors available in bridemaids dresses.
Hair Accessories
Cute little hair accessories have always been a big thing for flower girls, but, like everything else the look changes over time. Today, the headpiece is noticeably smaller and more aflower childa inspired that in years past. You'll also find that the dreaded baby's breath which adorned my hair when I was flower girl is no longer used in hair design or accessories.
Flower Girl Shoes
Today flower girl shoes are comfortable and cute. With everything from the fabric ballerina slipper to the simple satin Mary Jane shoe, there's a style for every child.
Cost
You can get wonderful flower girl dresses at any price. The only thing to make sure of it to make sure you get a comfortable, wrinkle free, and breathable fabric. An uncomfortable flower is the last thing you want on your special day! Cheap laces are itchy and some fake satins don't breath and are very sticky and uncomfortable! If cost is an issue don't get a flower girl dress, just get a pretty little dress that can be dressed up with adorable tights. You'd be surprised what you can find. Ebay is also a great place to find great dresses at really wonderful prices!
Style
Just make sure your young flower girl looks like a little girl. There's nothing worse than a 6 year old looking like a mom. Make sure the hairstyle and dress style is age appropriate.
Make Sure the Flower Girl is Happy
If she is at least 4 years old, it's likely that she's mature enough to go to at least one store with you. If this is possible, it's very much recommended so that you can get a sense of what she likes and also introduce her to what it means to be a flower girl. When I was a flower girl once I was so terrified and didn't even know it was happening until a day or two before and I didn't even know what it meant other than the fact that tons of people would be staring at me! Even at that young age and explanation of what's happening is important while being comfortable and feeling pretty. Even though I wasn't normally a vain child it was a big day for me and like adults a child needs to feel good.

It looks like a disassembled artificial (silk) flower. Just remove the stems and plastic parts, layer the petals together putting a dab of glue between each layer, then apply a rhinestone or button in the center with some glue. THen you are ready to attach it to your headband.Have fun!

QUESTION:
Headbands for infants--books/stores advice?
I'm having a baby girl in the next couple of weeks (due Feb 13th) and it's sort of my little dream to create a collection of headbands/clips for her to wear for pictures and such so everyone knows good and well--she's a GIRL. I'm looking for headbands in a few colors and in the crochet style so I can clip bows and flowers onto the different headbands and it will be very versatile. But I can't find it at a decent price--I've found a couple of people who sell inexpensive headbands but most clips are still or more a pop. I want affordability and adorable. Where did you get your favorite headbands for your baby girls? Do you know of any sellers available on-line who sell what I'm looking for? I've been Google-ing this for hours already so I thought I'd just see what other moms might suggest as well--I figure I can't be the only one with this problem.
Also, I'd be interested in making bows myself to attach to clips. Do any of you know of a good how-to book for that?
I'd appreciate any advice I can get for dolling up my little girl and any little sisters she has down the line--thanks so much!

Anytime I can't find something I want for apparel, I have learned to make it. I knit and I made up knitted patterns for snoods, because I couldn't find any. Here's a link to a site with crochet patterns for hair accessories. I think your best, and most affordable option, is to learn to crochet and then make your own things. That way you can have exactly what you want and you get the fun of creating it yourself!
Good luck. Feel free to message me for any more questions. I could knit what you want for baby too, if you like. Let me know!

QUESTION:
How much would be a fair price to ask for these crocheted sets?
I want to start selling and making little hats and bootie sets for babies. I have made them for family and friends, and everybody loves them so much. My grandmother keeps telling me I should sell them. My mother says around , but I think that sounds a little pricey. The yarn only costs about a skein, and it only takes about an hour for each thing (hour for hat, around 30 minutes or so for booties). So anyway, what would be a fair price to ask? I am thinking of just posting a picture on my Facebook and advertising the price and see how many takers I get. If that doesn't work, then I will sell them at a local trade day and crafts fair that we have in our town.http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1541902433609.2072670.1416406046#!/media/set/?set=a.1541902433609.2072670.1416406046#!/photo.php?fbid=1541902673615&set=a.1541902433609.2072670.1416406046&type=1&theater
It's the last 2 pictures in the album (hopefully you have access to my pictures, if not please let me know). I also make little crocheted headbands with flowers for baby girls as well. They only take about 20 minutes flower and all.
Also, should I make another page for the items I make and want to sell? Or just share and post on my personal profile? Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I changed my privacy settings for that album, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to see it? I fixed it so that "everyone" can see it and even tested it by logging out of my profile and then clicking the link.-
ANSWER:
How much is your time worth? You have an hour and a half in the work, plus in the materials. At for a set, that's about an hour for your labor, which is lower than minimum wage. If you buy a table at a craft show and sit there for a day, you will have an even greater investment of time and money. Here's my suggestion: Make a set in each color that people can pick up and feel--your "display merchandise." Then package the sets you're selling in boxes lined with tissue paper (which you can get for about 33 cents to 50 cents a box at the dollar store and at seasonal clearance sales at paper stores. Pastel tissue papers with white boxes, for example. Make them look as attractive as you can. If you put headbands in the sets, charge at least to more.
Then evaluate the number of sets you sell at that price. Did you sell enough to pay for the materials and return you a reasonable income for your time? If so, that's probably the right price. On the other hand, if you are losing money, you might lower the price for a sales day and see if your total income increases. If you sell out completely and people want to give you orders and buy the display sets too, then raise the price--you're selling too cheaply.

First: Daphne is how I'd spell it, but I do not like this name at all. It reminds me of Scooby-Doo and Daffy Duck. It's uncommon so if that's what your going for you hit the nail on the head! I personally don't like it, but it's your call!
Second: Names - Eli Alexander is a very cute name! I know a little boy named Eli Morgan and he is so sweet. I don't like his middle name though because I have a girl cousin named Morgan. I think this name deserves a 8/10
Bennett Alexander - I don't like Bennett. Alexander seems a little long for this name, it worked with Eli because Eli is a short name. Bennett is a surname, which has never really bothered me considering I like the names, Kennedy, Morgan, Taylor, Mason, etc. (all surnames and unisex names). 4/10
Cody Alan - I love love love Cody, however I hate Alan! I just like how Cody sounds. 7/10
Brenna Claire - is adorable! I have a little cousin who died when she was 16 days old, whose middle name was Briann and that's who I think of when I see Brenna, even though I know it's a totally different name! Claire is beautiful! I looked it up on www.babynames.com and found out it meand illustrious! 9/10
Francesca Rose - sorry, all I can say on this one is EWWW. I love Rose but it's ruined by Francesca. 2/10
Jocelyn Claire - It's better, but not my favorite! I love Claire though, and I think it makes it's first name better. 4/10

QUESTION:
Cute Crafty idea for a Baby girl picture...?
Can Anybody give me ideas on what i can use for a headband for my daughters photography im going to do.. She will have on like a pink onesis and pink tutu looking outfit with fairy wings on her back that are pink and white. I was trying to get ideas for what she can have on her head. Something green and white like garland or maybe flowers but what kind of flowers and how to put them together? She is 6 months old anybody have any crafty ideas?-
ANSWER:
1) Try buying an elasticated headband ready made or buy a piece of elasticated lace with a delicate hole like design, so you can thread things through and make one yourself.2) Go and buy from the local craft store, shop or even some cake shops some of those cute little artificial roses with the wire stems.
3) Thread the wire end (which is fabric covered) through the tiny little holes in the lace and loop each end with another flower and twist them all together to make a halo of beautiful roses or any other flower of your choice.
They come in all sorts of beautiful colours and some even have glitters and pearl swirled through them!
You can also pick up packets of beautiful leaves to mix through the flowers.
If you wish to, you could glue those leaves to the headband and make the illusion of only leaves and flowers resting in a beautiful round halo resting on babies head.
It will be beautiful and you will always look at the photo and know ''wow i made that!'' and it looks so beautiful too!
Good luck!

Everything should be green excepts the head band. The petals are always at the top of a flower. If you google baby flower costumes a lot will come up. Maybe seeing a picture of a costume will help.

QUESTION:
Is this a good story? It's kind of long....?
Here it is:The doctor walked into the hospital room where he saw a women laying in the hospital bed reading a book. She put the book down and looked up at him.
“I have your baby.” He said, smiling with every word he spoke.
The woman erupted in a large grin as the doctor handed her the baby in the pink flowered blanket. She looked down at her brand new baby girl. She had to think of a name for her. The woman looked up at the doctor’s nametag and whispered it softly.
“Aaden Adams.” She said. “All “A” sounds.”
The doctor smiled. “Yes, it is.”
The woman looked down at the baby again. “A.” She looked delighted.
“Do you wish to all her, “A”, Ms. Rowley?” The doctor asked.
“I do. Except, not with the letter A. I will spell it “A-I-E. Aie.” She said.
“A great name indeed.” The doctor nodded and left the room.
“Aie.” The baby looked up at her mother as she said her name. “It’s perfect!”
Four Years later
“Aie! Come down here and get ready for your first day of preschool!” Jennie Rowley called upstairs as she cooked up a pan of bacon for her 4 year old.
Little footsteps came down the hard wood steps. Then appeared a little girl with curly red-brown hair dragging a pink flowered blanket behind her.
“MOMMY!” She cried, taking off toward the kitchen.
“Hi, Aie! Good morning!” She hugged her little girl and then stepped back. “You’re starting to look like a big girl now that you’re going to preschool!”
“Uh, no mommy. I always will be your little baby girl.” Aie smiled, showing her perfect 4 year old teeth and dimples.
“That’s right, honey. What was I thinking?” Jennie hugged her again.
“I don’t know, mommy. I don’t know.” She shook her head back and forth, bouncing her curls.
Jennie laughed. “Go get dressed!”
“Ok!” Aie ran back upstairs and came down again in a red and black plaid dress with a matching headband.
“Here, sit at the table and eat this bacon.” Jennie took the plate of bacon to the table as Aie followed behind and sat in her seat. She started gobbling it up.
“Ok, let’s get in the car!” Jennie said when Aie finished breakfast. She took Aie out to the car and strapped her in. She started the car and drove to Aie’s preschool.
When they arrived at the school, Jennie said, “Here we are, honey, your first school ever!” Jennie grinned down at Aie.
“It’s too big!” Aie cried, and turned around.
“That’s okay, you have nice teachers to show you around!” Jennie took Aie to her classroom.
They got to her room and saw a nice looking lady at the door. “Hi! I’m Mrs. Butler and I will be your teacher for the rest of the year!” Mrs. Butler looked at Aie.
“Say ‘Hi’ to Mrs. Butler, Aie” Jennie Said.
“Hello, Mrs. Butler.” Aie said.
“So you’re Aie Rowley? It’s nice to meet you! Come on in to my room!” Mrs. Butler took Aie’s little hand and led into the classroom. Aie used her other hand to wave sadly to her mother. Jennie waved back and left the preschool.
Aie found a seat next to a girl who was drawing a picture of a dog in her notebook.
“That’s a good dog you got there!” Aie said.
“Thanks.” The other girl smiled at Aie.
A boy in a baseball cap sat down across from Aie. Just then, Mrs. Butler announced that class was starting.
She began the class by having everyone tell the others what their name was. Aie found out that the girl who drew the dog’s name was Cassidy and that the boy’s name was Evan. When it was Aie’s turn, she hesitated for a second.
“My name is Aie.” She said
“A is not a name, it’s the first letter of the alphabet!” Evan called out.
“Now, now Evan, let’s not be mean to our friends.” Mrs. Butler told him.
Aie sank down into her chair and didn’t talk for the rest of the school day. When the parent’s came to pick up the kids, she ran out to her mother, grabbed her hand, and led her out the front door.
“Aie, honey, slow down!”Jennie called. “What’s wrong?”
“Evan called me an alphabet!” She scowled at the sound of the name Evan.
“What?” Jennie said. Then she realized why he had said that. “It’s okay. He just wasn’t used to a pretty and new name like yours.”
“If my name is pretty and new then I hate names that are pretty and new.” Aie said, frowning.
“Sweetie, names are all different. We all have different names, and yours is very special.” Jennie said.
“But I don’t want to be special!” Aie cried out, running off to the car.
That night, when Jennie was tucking Aie into bed, she sat on Aie’s old rocking chair.
“Are you okay, honey?” She asked.
“I’m fine.” Aie said, rolling over with her back to mom.
“Okay.” Jennie calmly stated and left.
The next morning, when Jennie was making eggs, Aie came down the steps.
“Good morning Aie!” Jennie said.
“Who’s Aie?” Aie asked, looking over both her shoulders. “I’m Miranda.”
“Why are you Miranda? That is not your name!” Jennie asked.
“It is now! Miranda is a normal name and I want it!” Aie demanded.
Jennie Through her hands up. “All right!” she said. But in her head she wondered how long that would last.

ANSWER:
Wow, it was quite a brilliant story. If I had to suggest something, I would place her birth as an epilogue, say which book the mother was reading, hat car she drives etc. so we understand the family, but t is not even needed that can come later if necessary. It was really interesting

I got 7 today as a gift and I already have 5. 13 poor, unnamed dolls.... Help me name them, guys! I will include a description, and if I can, a picture.
The names can be childish, or nicknames, or cutesy, or food or nature names. Whatever seems to fit!
Doll 1: She has long, pink hair with a little glitter in it. She's wearing a gold and pink, sparkly dress and a headband with a rhinestone. Her eyes are blue, and her shoes are purple. She has an open mouthed smile. What should I name her?
I was considering: Sapphire and Ruby.
Doll 2: I will just give you a picture.
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/20/70129211_5668aae394.jpg?v=0Names I like for her: Lilly (her doll name is Lily of the valley)
Dolls 3 and 4: They're twins! They both have long white blond hair, bangs and it curls at the bottom. They have purple dresses and shoes. On the dresses are yellow flowes. They're wearing purple headbands with yellow flowers on them. They both have blue eyes with a little purple eyeshadow. The only difference is one has little pearls on the yellow flowers and one does not.
Names for girl with pearls I like: Kennedy Pearl
For the girl without pearls: LilacDoll 5: She has crazy green, wavy hair, and the cutest expression on her face. She has rosy cheeks and blue eyes. She is wearing a short red dress with a little gold, and a rose with two leaves. Her shoes are pink.
Names I like for her: Minnie, Minty.
Doll 6: Here is a picture.
http://www.tias.com/stores/cottageant/thumbs/631a.jpgNames I like for her: Rose, Rosie May
Doll 7: She has bangs and green hair that is long and curly. It is a bit lighter than Doll 5. She has grayish blue eyes and is wearing a green short pantsuit romper type thing. She only has one arm.
Names: Can't think of any.
Doll 8: She isn't exactly like the others. She has a different shaped head, I don't even think she's a liddle kiddle. She has hoeny blond hair, pouty lips, and ornately shaped blue eyes. She is wearing a black a white dress with a red bow. She is very vogue-esque.
Names: Charlotte, Scarlett.
Doll 9: http://cgi.ebay.com/LIDDLE-KIDDLE-KOLOGNE-SWEET-PEA_W0QQitemZ220360329446QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDolls?hash=item220360329446&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
That's her.
Names: None yet. I really want to give her a girly, southern belle type of name.
Doll 10: She's naked, lol. She has an impish grin, blue eyes, and light blond mid length hair with bangs.
Names: Kayla after my friend because she looks like her, or Kayleigh June. Can't decide.
Doll 11: She has bobbed light blond hair, a smirky, slightly smug but sweet expression, blue eyes with a little eyeshadow, and a floral headband with pearls. Her dress is floral with a bow. She looks like she is wearing flip flops.
Names: I was thinking Nicole.
Doll 12: Blue eyes and blue eyeshadow, two bows on either side of her head, and long wavy purple hair and bangs. She is wearing a mainly purple dress with some gold and pink.
Names: My heart is sorta set on Lola.
Doll 13: She is cute, but shy looking with a slight pout. Pale blue eyes, and somewhat discolored blond hair. She is wearing an outfit that makes her look either shy or like a baby. There's a silky purple bonnet with a little lace and some embrodiery flowers and her dress is lacy with an embrodiered flower.
Name: I'm thinking Mary.
THANKS! Sorry it's so long. Lol.

If you're gonna leave a rude answer, don't answer at all. Kay, thanx. I know I'm a doll nerd, don't be a jerk about it.-
ANSWER:
Naming things is really important to me, too. Some people are okay with Jane Doe. Those poor, poor pitiful people. The rest of us who are awesome will continue to name things...er...awesomely.1. I don't care much for gem names
sorry. But I do like Iantha or Ianthe (for the purple shoes lol. I'm a weird one)2. Lily is a good name for her, or Lillie or Lillian (she's sooo cute!)
3&4. Saffron (yellow flower) for the one without pearls, Magan (pearl) for the one with. Although I do like Kennedy and Lilac quite a bit ^_^
5. I like Mynt, Roseclere, or Rosette. (I HATED Minnie Mouse when I was little lol)
6. The first name that springs to mind is Holly (she's like the berry!! stuck between the leaves!! If you hadn't noticed, I have fallen in love with these little dolls lol)
7. I'm thinking Grisel. It sounds rough, like she's been through a lot. It also means grey battle, which works out lol.
8. I loooove the two names you have picked already. I'd go with Scarlett I think.
9. Oooh, how about Tara, Coreen, Carolina, or Magnolia?
10. How about Kayla June? I definitely like the name June for her though. Maybe Ivy June, or Puck!!
11. Nicole does sound pretty good. Maybe Summer, Tanya, or Pixie.
12. Lola is nice, or Lydia
13. Awww...what about Lacey? I think Lacey goes well.
They sound just adorable. I think I'm in love lol

QUESTION:
how can i make this better or improve?***please read the whole thing tell if it is intriguing**?
"Do you want to hear a story, baby?""Of course! Silly momma..."
"Okay, honey," She smiled, her perfect lips rising in the corners, "One day, almost one hundred years ago, was a woman named Azure. She was the young queen of the Woodlands, a secret world in the woods of Maine. Azure was the perfect woman; she had soft features, pale, flawless skin, and full pink lips. She had flowing red hair and huge moss eyes. One day a man named Jasper entered the Woodlands; he had hundreds of freckles and dark hair and eyes. Jasper and Azure fell in love and ruled the Woodlands together; they led the town with happiness and light. After ruling the Woodlands for 25 years together, a cold woman named Exie. She ruled the element of ice, and was evil; she was darkness, not light. Jasper immediately fell in love with her, and together, they forced Azure out of Woodlands. Azure ran to the human world and fall in love with a human named Byron Smith. He had light skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair. Azure shortly had a little baby girl, named Scarlett Elora, who looked just like her, except for the eyes. She had been born with deep, mystical brown eyes; Jasper's eyes. Jasper at once felt the baby's power and suddenly felt hope. Exie was much to powerful, and Scarlett was going to save the Woodlands..."
That is my only memory of my mother, telling me this story every night. She ran off when i was seven, leaving me to my dad, his girlfriend, and her two kids. Don't get my wrong; June is great, and Miranda and Allysa are amazing, but I always have this nagging feeling that my mother just hated me. I figured that she told me that story for an easy way to say she cheated on my Dad. It kept me wondering at night...
"Pull yourself together!" snapped Miranda, coming up behind me. "You aren't even dressed? Your hair isn't curled? And we really need some heavy foundation to cover those freckles..." she droned on and on.
"I am not covering up my freckles, or the fifteenth time. And I am going. Right now. Now scoot, or are you going to waste more time arguing with me?"
"Fine...but don't you even dare to try and look sloppy!" Miranda rushed out of the room at full speed. I looked after her in awe; she looked beautiful. Her dark brown hair was in an intricate up-do, and her light blue eyes were layered with thick long eyelashes. Her dress fit her perfectly; the pearl colored frill made her look perfectly voluptuous, and very tall.
I slipped on my dress, which was exactly like Miranda's, but it fit differently. When my dress was on I felt lean and tall. The dress was such a soft material. It was strapless, and when you fit my waist it turned into a princess dress filled with lots of ruffles, but not the over the top kind. I gently brushed my thick, red curls out and braided a section of my hair, turning it into a "natural" headband, as June would say. I tucked a white flower into it. I finally looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't belong here. I didn't want my dad to get married. My head screamed, "Be happy!", but heart shouted no.
All of a sudden, I was pulled out of the room.
"Here we go!" Miranda whispered. She tugged at me, and we both started walking down the aisle. This was going to fast. I couldn't breath. My breath came faster and faster, the room was spinning.
"Run, home little darling..."said a voice that could only be my mother's, "Run to the Woodlands, they need a warrior, a Savior..." Was this in my head? Was I going crazy? I glanced around to see hundreds of shaken faces, and then i saw the woods. The thick woods of Kennebunk, Maine. And so with that jolt of surprise from my mother's words, I took off running through the thick brush of Maine's forest.

ANSWER:
Proofreading notes: In the beginning, "After ruling the Woodlands for 25 years together, a cold woman named Exie." is a sentence fragment. You could say Exie simply that she was darkness; "she was not light" is redundant.
"Exie was much TOO powerful" (emphasis on the second O, not to).
"I am not covering up my freckles, or the fifteenth time" (I think you mean "FOR the fifteenth time).
"It was strapless, and when you fit my waist [...]" (What?)
"I couldn't breath." (Breathe is spelled with an E at the end)
Other than that, I thought it was an interesting story, especially the part of how the woodlands need a savior. You might want to look at www.thesaurus.com for other words for "woods" to change the repetition, but I liked the story. Remember, paragraphs are your friends; the average paragraph usually consists of 3-5 sentences.
