After all, the purpose of the chair rail is to protect the wall; if I compare it to a car bumper, the old heavy chrome ones took a hit and still look good, but today’s cars’ bumpers look ugly after just a light ding. Hi – trawling Ebay is probably your best bet. You can pick up authentic/vintage haberdashery and new replica stuff there. Hint – save a ‘search’ such as ‘vintage’ in the craft/hobbies section and ebay will send you an email every morning with all the new listings – it’s an invaluable tool for picking up real treasure for cheap!

You can pick the ribbon color and size, the color of fabric paint, to compliment the arrangement, and have “Beloved Godmother” or something appropriate written on the ribbon.
Most florists use gold or silver fabric paint.
If you are making the flower arrangement or purchasing a pre-made one from a store, you can also make the ribbon yourself.
Ribbon and fabric paint can be purchased at Wal-Mart.
I do this occasionally.
You may want to practice with the fabric paint, on an extra piece of ribbon, before writing on the selected piece.

Cassie: The flowers are most visible (and most prolific) on the top of the tree but they are throughout the tree. Lotsa flowers for now. Hopefully, lots of fruit!

our son’s wedding: each of the eight bridesmaids carried a single long-stemmed cream rose. as they came down the aisle they each had a ‘special’ relative of the bride and groom that they stopped and presented their rose to. so the favourite aunties, the grandmas, the mums etc. all were given a rose! it was quite a pretty little scenario to see!

I am trying to decide what to use to make my wedding bouquet and I’d like to do them myself because it’s so much cheaper and I can do whatever I want to do to them. I’m thinking about using ivory flowers of some sort (probably carnations or hydrangeas) to make a large poufy bouquet and then use ribbon in burgundy or chocolate so I can coordinate my wedding colors. Does that sound like it would be good? Can you find a picture of a bouquet like that for me?

I’ve seen them wth 5 petals, and I do like that more. it’s not for a hair clip, though, so attachment instructions aren’t necessary.
I think your combination of cream, burgundy and chocolate sounds great! Think about a red velvet grooms cake with chocolate frosting. Your on the right track. Be sure to spread the burgundy around as much as possible.
what do i put on the ribbon of flowers for a funeral?
I just found some videos about how to make ribbon roses for the same reason – my daughter’s wedding! they aren’t too difficult to make, especially if you use a stitch or two as you go along ot keep the folded ribbon in place. You will need about a metre of ribbon for each rose, and I added little leaves and some tulle as backing. I sewed little brooch clips on the back s well so I can pin them anywhere I want.
You don’t need the wire and green tape parts if you don’t want stems or a curled base for your flowers. I just used ribbon, the leaves, tulle and sometimes a little circle of felt to go on the back and hold the brooch pin in place.

When I retire, I’m going to move to Queens. And eat Jollibee and Red Ribbon.
It just depends on who is being buried. I have seen foil letters on the ribbon spelling out the person’s name, other things written are “Wife, mother, daughter”, etc. At a funeral for a man who was a huge Nascar fan, they had die-cast cars, etc. For a child, you can have rattles, dolls, etc. Just use your imagination and put stuff that is relevant to the deceased.

i would go for royal icing. as you won’t have to leave it in the fridge but you just gotta ice the cake in advance as you’ll need to let it dry.
you can make the traditional one with the egg whites or make the one with Wilton’s Meringue Powder (it reduces the chances of getting salmonella cos you won’t be cooking the whites.)

3 egg whites
800g icing sugar, sifted
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1) whisk until foamy then add the sugar by tablespoons until a smooth and spreadable consistancy, then stir in lemon juice.
2) portion out and add colouring then ice your cake and cookies.

The way that I found works best it to get some of that “Writing Icing” stuff.. it’s basically just a tube of icing with a nozzle on the end.. you can buy it in most supermarkets and it comes in loads of different colours.. squeeze a little drop onto the back of whatever it is you want to stick on the cake and hey presto! You can then replace the cap, stick it back in the cupboard and save it for next time.. also, it tastes really yummy too!
